Recently, Jimmy Kimmel, the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live has posted a video from home, where he is currently socially distancing himself like many of us. In this video, Kimmel has mentioned that his wife suggested starting Formal Fridays where their family would dress up like they would normally to go to the office and we thought it was a great idea.
If you are from the corporate world, you are probably already used to jean Fridays, so this would be the opposite. You can even give it a different name like Glam Fridays. The idea is really to take care of yourself and look and feel your best!
Here are a few tips for your Formal or Glam Fridays with a throwback to some, very à propos, archived Vogue Editorials.
- Color Your Outer Vibe. And maybe even incorporate some yellow or orange to boost your energy levels. This is the scientific unconscious effect these colors have on the brain. And when you think about it, it is like wearing your own sun.
- Throw On An Extravagant Accessory. Revisit your fun cocktail or gala accessories and choose the one that represents your mood the most.
- Play With Your Makeup. Try new makeup looks and explore the power of bold lips, this is the perfect opportunity to try your dark blue or deep orange lipstick that has been sitting in the back of your makeup drawer.
- Match Or Contrast With Your Furniture. Now, we usually try matching our bags and shoes with our outfit. Since you will most likely not be using those at home, let’s make things a little more interesting and make your new work environment or some elements of it your new matching or contrasting background accessories.
- Upgrade Your Home Atmosphere. This is your day remember and for this reason the general atmosphere of your home should be upped for the occasion. Play the type of music that puts you in a celebrative mood, light up a scented candle or prepare an Instagram like plate or table for lunch.
