I am the type of person who will try everything because I have an insatiable hunger for discoveries and novelty. This is why it was only natural for me to try Speed dating, that and the fact that I wanted to meet new people and maybe find love or THE one… Ok, I know it’s cheasy, but you probabaly are sometimes too! Let’s just keep this between us.
While searching for Montreal’s crème de la crème speed dating events, one company stood out: Men were older than women for a same event, people were prescreened to ensure meeting dashing people like yourself, they even had fun tips on their blog and seemed professional. That is how I ended up attending a Dashing date event which took place at Atame, the new aphrodisiac restaurant on Duluth. Kavita, the event hostess, welcomed all attendees with a warm smile and directed us to the bar which felt like a junior prom dance floor where guys were on one side and girls were on the other. It was funny to watch. People were cute and dressed chic, which was definately a plus. Cocktails were original and tasty. Once everyone arrived, guys sat at tables and we joined them right after and the prom night impression quickly evaporated. We switched tables each 5 minutes. Despite the fact that you can’t get to know a person completely in 5 minutes, you get to see a glimpse of who they are. Between each table switch, we filled our papers with comments and checked the Yes, No or Maybe box to significate our interest in seeing the person again. Mutual matches (Yes-Yes and Yes-Maybe) were communicated to both parties within 24 hours after the event. We had a 5 minutes break in the middle and a social networking cocktail took place after with hors d’œuvres. There were definitely some attractive and interesting people based on my first impressions.
I recommand experimenting speed dating with Dashing Date as a fun activity to meet new dashing people. However, I suggest you bring a friend to make it less intimidating. Take a look at their upcoming events.
