We often talk about local fashion, but we don’t necessarily talk as much about costume design, so we decided to take a little dive into it by introducing some of our favorite costume and accessory makers in the city. The beauty of these designs is that they can be used for a varity of occasions and events such as costume parties, theater plays, circus representations, entertainement shows, festivals and events such as ComicCon and Burning Man.
Loba La Louve
Loba La Louve‘s designer, Genevieve, designs fantastic, post-apocalyptic and fetish inspired accessories and custom costumes inspired by movies such as Mad Max, Tank girl, Book of Eli and Blade Runner. Genevieve has studied costume design at Lasalle College and has worked for 6 years in the medieval / fantastic world and currently works with Cirque Du Soleil. She uses mainly leather in her creations, made in small quantities or on request, but she does not stop at a particular style. Among people wearing her creations, show and circus performers, festival goers (like Burning Man or Comiccon) and for live action role playing games (grandeur nature in French). Prices range from $ 30 to $ 800 a piece, but could vary depending on the costume. In the above photo, you can see the Queen Kit.
