Frank & Oak will be launching a womenswear line in September 2016 responding to the several requests from the other half of the population aka women wanting to experiment what their boyfriends and brothers already experiment with the brand. The very much anticipated collection will include dresses, pants, sweaters, blouses, skirts, outerwear and accessories and will target the female portion of the creative entrepreneurial and professional millennial community. Just like they started with their menswear line, Frank & Oak’s women online section is already inviting potential customers to register to their newsletter through which they will receive an invite to their pre-sale event. The price range is said to be between $50 and $165, mucho affordable.
The collection will be refreshed seasonally as opposed to the men’s collection which is refurnished monthly. “When we look at the female audience, we aren’t looking at the girlfriend of someone who is already buying from us, we are looking at a certain lifestyle and trying to figure out how do we create functional products for them.” co-founder and CEO Ethan Song said to Women’s Wear Daily.
Here are my 5 wishes or predictions for the upcoming Frank & Oak womenswear line:
- Men inspired shirts made with thicker fabrics, different fabrics and prints for collars, sleeve edges and under garment. I would be looking forward to seeing prints and colors such as yellow, green, dark lilac purple, etc. in pastel tints.
- Ties, bow ties & suspenders limitlessly exploring the world of colors and prints while evolving within classic, chic, fun and original directions.
- Tweed & corduroy fabrics in modern fresh young professional cuts.
- Led back sweaters & cardigans with just the right balance of oversized versus centered cuts for a larger array of styles and choices.
- Eventually, a blow bar to refresh messy hair after an intense fitting room session where we can sip martinis with your girlfriends.
